Drillion
7 prompts against the clock. Rare answers make your drill dig deeper.
Name anything in a category, but not the first thing that comes to mind. Obvious answers barely scratch the surface, and rare ones send your drill down towards the deepest hole ever dug.
How to play
- You get 7 prompts, one at a time, like "Name a bird" or "Name a country starting with B".
- Type one answer before the bar runs out. If it is not recognised, try another while you still have time.
- The rarer your answer, the deeper you dig. Out of time on a prompt scores nothing.
- With other players, an answer nobody else in the room gave digs a little further.
Scoring
Each answer is worth 10 to 90 points on a 700-point scale, depending on how far from obvious it is in our lists. Answers outside our lists that check out on Wikidata count as the rarest. An answer nobody else in the room gave adds 10. On the scoreboard, 700 points count as the full 1000.
What it works
- Creative recall You pull many answers from memory on demand and skip the first ones that come up.
- General knowledge The more you know about a subject, the further from the obvious you can go.
- Processing speed You have only a few seconds to decide, and fewer on Hard.
